Back in the water, all shiny and new.

After eight months of being landlubbers, we climbed back onto Innocenti as she was lowered into the water with her new paint job, Schenker watermaker, Victron battery, and charging system, not to mention new varnish, VHF radio, gas hoses and us with a significantly shrunken bank account.

We celebrated the completed work with a few beers on board with the hard-working tradies before dropping the lines at 4.30 am and leaving Imperia bound for Corsica.

It took us several hours to find our sea legs again🤢🤮. I began to question my lifestyle choices and wondered when I would start to have fun. Two weeks into a hot summer…and we’ve had NZ friends visiting in Bastia, and then Rachael stayed for a week, and we sailed with her from Corsica to Sardinia, so tutto bene! The fun has started.

A picture paints a thousand words, so here’s some pics of the refit project and the end result.

We left our NZ flag on the fence at the yard…so they wouldn’t forget us😁

Well worth it I say. Innocenti looks amazing, with all necessary equipment to proceed.
I only know you Anna and I think you are the perfect person for this lifestyle. Maybe long term I see a book being written he he
After snorkelling with the Humpback Whales in Tonga it gave me the inspiration to write one.
You have some fab adventures to share….
Winter is setting in here in the north although is warmer than Auckland we walk daily sometimes to Marina for a coffee. Lots of overseas people living on their yachts.
Garry my husband is going to volunteer to take out handicapped children on a large launch being refurbished . He will show them how to fish and look after them.
We intend taking our caravan up to Paihia for a change of scenery and walks at the end of the week when the weather is better.
I got asked to go in a show Stars in your Eyes competition I didn’t think Acapella was appropriate. My cousin wanted us to do the Topp Twins Lol however with Jules Topp dying I thought that not good idea either.
Well it’s drinks time , better make myself a coffee.
All the best to you both money is meant to be spent and you worked hard for it.

Hi Julie! So, did you write the book? I have an article coming out in the July issue of Yachting Monthly. It’s about the Red Sea. Our other little project is a blue-water Yachting consultancy called All Winds. Have a look at allwinds.net. We need to top up the funds🤣🤣. You sound well and happy. Keep warm. I’d love to catch up when we’re back in NZ. A xo
