Life afloat

We’ve embedded ourselves in the Langkawi life for a while. It’s nice to have a change from being on the move or working. The boat is in the marina at Rebak Island, and we come and go from there out to the beautiful anchorages in the Unesco Heritage islands off the coast of Langkawi. It’s…

Hey…we’re back on board Innocenti after nine months away. We are no longer home-owners. The only real estate we own is this 42-foot little piece of Aotearoa floating around in Malaysia. Let me attempt to summarise the goings-on of our time away in a single paragraph. Here goes…. We ran out money and couldn’t re-tennant…

1. The Lagoon – is situated on the waterfront in Cairns. There’s a big pool with a beach, free showers (a great facility for grotty yachties) and it’s patrolled by lifeguards. There are free water-zumba classes (Angus is very excited about that🤣) an outdoor gym and fantastic free BBQ facilities. It’s a bit chaotic in…

We took advantage of a couple of days in Townsville to do some jobs. The servicing of the engine being the priority. Innocenti was perched on the edge of the channel in the “Duck Pond” with our keel stuck in the mud at low tide (at least that stopped the rolling) where we changed the…
